So I am really in the mood for blogging today, normally I would spend my Sunday just playing games on my laptop but then I suddenly had the urge to blog and got a blog post idea (which rarely happens!) So today I thought that I would give you some tips to spice up your room, now these are not necessarily summer themed, actually I've had most of them since winter.

The first one is hanging some 'tumblr pictures' around your room. I went to Florida last year and when I visited Disney World I bought some post cards but I never intended to send them I knew that they would look amazing in my room so I found these clear pegs and placed them on my fairy lights.

Which leads me onto my next tip, fairy lights. They look so 'tumblr' in your room and when I go to bed I turn off all the lights apart from my fairy lights and they are so nice. I find them quite relaxing aswell, I don't know why. I bought these from 'The Range' I think. The Range is really good for fairy lights I think my ones are about 5 meters long so I managed to put them all around my bed. I' currently looking for some lantern ones like the picture below so if you see any please let me know!

My next idea is pillows! Not ones that you sleep on, well maybe you do sleep on these pillows. Anyway they really add to your bed. I don't think that I could ever have just the pillows I sleep on anymore! I get my pillows from anywhere, I think the two small pillows and the 'Hello' ones are from Asda Living. I go for quite neutral colours like grey, white and black and then you can add a brighter colour to stand out. Then you can swap the colourful pillows for different ones for a slight change!

This also links to my next point however it's not so easy. If you are getting your room re-done soon and you are struggling to choose what colour to make it, I would advise you to go for a neutral colour because you can add little bits of colour to your room but when you get bored of them swap it to a different colour, it is a lot easier and cheaper to do it this way than painting your walls a bright colour, then getting bored of it and having to re-paint your walls all over again. You can swap it as often as you like as well.

My final idea is adding decor to empty places for example, my bedside table only had a light and my mirror so I put my book on the side and it encourages me to read more too. I also bought these pots from IKEA and placed my brushes in one and lip products in the other. My friends sister gave me lots of stuff the other day and in the box were these Marc Jacobs minis so I put them there. Photos are another great idea, not only do they use space but they remind you of the good times you have had.
